With the wide range of skills required in any given design firm it is no surprise that there are also a number of different levels of designer within each  firm – starting from junior designers and working right through to the art or creative director. A bachelor’s or an associate degree in graphic design is usually required for to get an entry level position within a design firm. Bachelors graphic design degrees are offered at a number of universities, colleges, and private design schools. Most school curriculums include studio art, principles of design, computerized design, commercial graphics production, printing techniques, and Web site design – in other words, a basic core of skills and knowledge. These courses will usually be two to three years in duration.
