Christmas Gift Dilemna

Christmas present or birthday gift wise, I’m pretty hard to shop for. I have a pretty blasse reaction to any gift that I’m fortunate enough to receive. Not that I’m not thankful, it’s just not in my personality that go crazy over anything. As a consequence, whenever Christmas, Father’s Day or my birthday comes around I usually receive Mastercard or American Express gift certificates or some department store affiliated gift cards from my kids, nieces and nephews. It’s currently a few days after Christmas and a few days before 2010. I have a whole heap of gift certificates that I need to spend. I was just laying on my bed staring at the ceiling when I happened to stare over to the left at my plain, bland closet doors and came to the realization that I should use my certificates to buy replacement closet doors.

I know what you mean. My son is the exact same way, except his thing is sports, specifically the LA Lakers. I could present him with a million dollar check, and would receive a low key response. But whenever Kobe and the Lakers are on TV, he\’s totally in it, totally involved, totally emotional.
