Don’t get caught with your lights down and not enough power to generate all the different appliances you need to run during a power outage. For example, most lights need 500 watts, most refrigerators need 1800 watts… but the sump pump will probably need 3000 watts. And, if it’s raining like crazy while the lights are out don’t you think you better have your sump pump working efficiency so you don’t float away in the storm? And remember that there is a heavy surge when you startup the big appliances, so don’t buy too little power and then try to crank everything up and boom!
