Yeah, Another Study Finds Exercise is Good
Just saw that another piece of research finding that exercise can prolong our lives was completed a few months ago. Maybe the researchers are predjudiced, but I can't recall ever seeing a headline saying "study finds exercise not good for you". And I'm sure the media would have jumped all over such a study if it had ever occured. This particular government-sponsored research, released on Jan 22, found that all it took was brisk walking for a half hour four to six times a week in order to cut the risk of premature death by half.
The main thing to take away here is that it's not necessary to join a gym, buy a fancy piece of exercise equipment, or get yourself a fitness instructor. All you have to do is walk at a decent clip. And if you wanted to add strength training to the program (and there are plenty of reasons why you might want to), you can do bodyweight exercises such as pushups, pullups, lunges, bear crawls, squat thrusts, and more. So there's really no financial excuse not to take advantage of this. It just boils down to whether or not a person wants to invest a little time and effort in themselves.
