If the surgeon is able to accomplish the procedure laproscopically, you will not need to stay in the hospital more than 3 days. Many people are able to leave within 2 days. If he/she is not able to use this method, you may need to stay a bit longer. A great deal will depend on how well you respond to the procedure, as well as the method used in gastric bypass surgery.
