The Elliptical As Your Horse
Posted by Kina,
Mounting an elliptical machine isn’t the same as getting on a horse, but you still have to be careful. To mount from the side (with a horse make sure you do this from the left), grab the handle bar to steady your balance while stepping on the pedals.Be careful because the pedals will have no resistance to your weight. When you start the pedaling motion and begin to create momentum, just keep going as the elliptical trainer begins to record your time and distance.Check out the programs that are built into your unit , but pay attention to what’s going on. Remember, the handrails are to support you, they are not meant for slouching and leaning. Keep your body upright and make your trunk and legs do the workout.
Experiment with the resistance levels. Some ellipticals come with 16 to 20 levels, so you should try all of them over time as you gradually build your capacity for endurance.
