I was reading recently that there are computer based programs that can literally translate the spoken word into a written word format. I think that is crazy and wonderful all at the same time. I am sure though that no matter how wonderful this software is, that there are bound to be mistakes. The medical transcriptionist today has a lot of job responsibilities and I do not think that this software would hurt their careers. In fact, they would still be in great demand to help proof the errors that a computer based translating software program would make when it tried to transcribe.
